Men do see EVERYTHING

Yes. We do look. It's not like that's some shocking ground breaking news. It's not like girls don't look.

That being said, there are different kind of "look".  Some might argue that looking is, looking.  To some, looking when you are already attached/ married is a sin akin to that of adultery.  Each to its own.

Had a little discussion with girlfriend about this before.  My own view is that looking at pretty women (or men) is second nature to most of us.  My own view has always been looking at pretty girls is no different to say, looking at a beautiful painting.

Staring, is a totally different thing.  Staring usually involves thoughts and imagination.  It doesn't take a genius to second guess what one would be imagining.

Napping pod from Metronaps.

I wonder if they would install this at work?
I can attest to benefits of quick nap during shifts. In fact, I should try to do it today :p

Energizer Solar Recharger

It's about time that big boys start getting into the clean energy act.  While I am very happy with my Solio, having big boy getting into the act to widen the distribution is something else.  Particularly when Solio sells for almost 200 SGD in some outlets in Singapore.

Sexy too, I might add.

Barbie P520 cellphone turns up in China

By Donald Melanson on p520

Now, it's entirely possible that this isn't an official Barbie cellphone (or even an actual cellphone) but, if you're looking for something that's more Barbie-ish and, well, less cellphone-like than your usual phone, you may want to consider this new P520 model that recently turned up in China. Apparently, this one includes 2-inch,176 x 220 display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, "up to 2GB of expandable memory" (we're guessing a microSD card slot), built-in Bluetooth, not one but two SIM card slots and, yes, an actual mirror. Sold? Then you can apparently pick one up now for 780 yuan (or $114), although getting one over here will likely take a bit more doing.

[Thanks, Daniel]

Bloglines - LED-encrusted speed bump flattens out when you're not flat-out

LED-encrusted speed bump flattens out when you're not flat-out

By Tim Stevens on speeding

LED-encrusted speed bump flattens out when you're not flat-out
Speed bumps are supposed to punish the speeders and minimally offend those abiding by the legal limits. But, as all drivers know, crossing the things sucks at any speed and, regardless of how brightly painted they are, they're easy to miss until you're finding out the hard way just what kind of suspension travel your ride offers. A smarter bump from designers Jae-yun Kim and Jong-Su Lee could be the answer. Unlike the ones we've covered in the past, this one stays up all the time, using a small damper inside to flatten out when a car drives over it at low speed. The higher force applied by a faster car would prevent the bump from lowering and, presumably, ruin that dastardly speeder's day. The things are also festooned with LEDs on the front, back, and sides, which might just mean you'd be able to see this one in time to save your dubs from destruction.

Superhero

nancock

I loved the show Hancock.  Not because of Will Smith and not because of comic influence.  Just a sucker for the concept of one man who is able to right the wrong in this world.  Watch the scene in which he disable the bad guys in a flash, one can't help but hope that one such superhero exist in light of recent events.

Fun with subtitles

Now, it really take serious talent to punk the subtitle well.

But it also brings refreshing point of view on Nikon user's view on the latest D3X

Great ball of fire....

Alonzo Bodden says...

where's the bra bomber?

Buying gadgets where they are new.

My dream camera is out.  Going full frame has been the aim from day 1 of me going digital, to the point that my lens are all EF series lens, which is rather awkward to use on crop sensors.

But the concern has always been 1) new product bugs ; 2) new product pricing.  The idea has always been new products are untested on field and might have hidden crippling bug.  Furthermore, as how new products are always strongly sought for, the pricing is never as competitive.  Even Sam suggested initially that I wait for price to drop.  Ken Rockwell has something else to say about this though.

I might just heed his advice after all.

Well, as things go, understanding of the nativity story is on the decline.  So newer and more contemporary ways of telling the stories is in.

The Next Fad: MIDs or Mobile Internet Device

You gotta give it to Nokia, they one of the earliest to develop on this.  Nokia Internet Tablet was the earliest product to hit the market.  Now, a whole horde of product is heading our way, to make us poorer in the process.

One particular device that caught my eye is the Aigo P8860 MID.

Specs here.

Miss Aniela

Seasoned and would-be photographers alike should take a look at Miss Aniela's work.  She is a self-trained fine-art photographer who did most of her work with a Sony DSC-R1.  Her self-portraits are really of different class altogether.  If you are a self-professed camera-whore, you really ought to have a look at her work.  Obviously it didn't hurt that she is quite a looker herself.

What would you do if you know you are going to die?

A rather daunting question to ponder this early in the morning.  Nevertheless, reading the piece by Teh Joo Lin & Kimberly Spykerman titled "If I don't make it out..." drove away my usual morning stupor and brought tears to my eyes.

What would one do?

I have a short conversation with SH, I asked:

"What would you do if you know you are going to die?"

"I dunno", she paused

"I guess if i had a phone and could use it then send smses to the pple i love lor"

me: "yeah, i think that's that"

me:"I dont know what dying with dignity means. rather I can't imagine how it would be"

"but i suppose this is it"

I had meant to go pay respect, but SH felt that it's hard as it is to lose a loved one, let along having to put up with strangers budging into your life.  So I will pay my respect here.  I pray for you.  I pray for all who perish to find peace and solace in their own religion.  I pray for a world with more tolerances and respect for one and other.  I thank God for the peace and harmony that He bestowed upon our nation.  Lest we should forget.
